Ghana’s Black Stars striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt was on target for Willem II in their emphatic win over Vitesse Arnhem on Sunday.
The former Bayern München striker scored his first goal of the season in his second appearance this season in the Dutch Eredivisie for the Mauves and Reds.
Eighteen minutes into the game, the visitors were awarded a free-kick which was delivered nicely into the box by Gorkem Saglam and the cross was powerfully met by the Ghanaian forward who headed into the roof of the net to give the visitors the lead.
Saglam again set up Che Nunnely on the 36th minute mark to score the second goal of the evening for Willem II before the break.
Markus Schubert scored for the host but it was ruled offside after the referee consulted the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after 68 minutes.
Wesley Spieringhs made the score line a resounding one for the visitors on the 82nd minute when he added the third goal of the match to make it a 3-0 win for Wriedt and his colleagues.
The win is Willem II first of the season.
The 27-year-old Bundesliga winning striker had a goal in two games for his team in the Eredivisie two games into the campaign.
