Rising Ghana defender Vincent Atingah Addae claims it would be a ‘dream come true’ to play for Schalke 04 in Germany.
The 25-year-old centre-back is enjoying a stellar start to his season in Albania, making seven appearances in 11 matches so far.
Atingah plays for KF Tirana in Albanian’s top flight and revealed he dreams of making a big transfer to the German Bundesliga.
The 2017 WAFU Cup winner admitted a move to the English Premiership or the Spanish Laliga appealed to him, but conceded a switch to Schalke 04 remains his top choice.
He also dreams of making coach Kwasi Appiah’s Black Stars final cut for the 2019 African Nations Cup to which will be held in Cameroon.
Speaking exclusively to SportsworldGhana.com, the former Hearts of Oak star said he has always loved the club from his infancy and that he’s working assiduously to accomplish his dream transfer move in future.
”I really admire Schalke 04,” said Atingah. ”I have been following the team since I was young and I seriously want to play for the club in future when the opportunity comes,”
”Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are big clubs with great history but personally I like Schalke and that is why it’s my dream to play for them. He added.
”Honestly, it will be a dream come true to play for such a great club.”
Atingah, joined Albanian giants KF Tirana as a free agent in the summer transfer after the expiration of his contract with Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs pillar played a key role in the Black Stars B side that clinched the 2017 WAFU Cup hosted in Ghana.
His sparkling form in that competition and also in the 2016/17 Ghana premier league earned him a debut senior call-up into the national team – where he made a substitute appearance in the Black Stars international friendly win over Saudi Arabia.
