Serbian top-flight club FK Vojvodina are set to make a move for highly-rated winger Ibrahim Zubairu, who currently plays for league rivals Partizan Belgrade.
The 21-year-old, known for his pace and flair on the wings, has caught the attention of Vojvodina despite a season disrupted by injury.
Zubairu had a promising start to the 2024/25 campaign, featuring in key early fixtures and impressing with his dribbling ability and attacking intent. However, a mid-season injury kept him out of action for several weeks, halting what had looked to be a breakout year for the young winger.
Despite the setback, his potential remains undeniable, and Vojvodina are keen to secure his services ahead of the 2025/26 season. The club sees Zubairu as a valuable addition to their squad as they look to strengthen their attacking options and mount a stronger challenge in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Club sources indicate that Vojvodina are in the process of finalizing an official offer, which they plan to submit in the coming days. Partizan are aware of the interest and are expected to assess the proposal seriously once it is formally presented. While no fee has been disclosed yet, Zubairu’s age and potential are likely to make him a valuable asset on the transfer market.
Partizan, who finished the season in the top half of the table, may be reluctant to let go of a young talent to a direct domestic rival, but financial considerations and squad planning could play a role in their final decision.
Zubairu, who joined Partizan as a teenager, has risen through the ranks and is considered one of the promising young players in Serbian football. A move to Vojvodina could provide him with more consistent playing time and a fresh start following his injury.
