Wa All Stars have appointed Abubakar Mumuni Sokpari as the interim coach of the club after relieving Enos Adepa of his post.

Coach Sokpari, who was an assistant to Adepa, is expected to hold the fort till the end of the current Premier League season, according to the General Manager of the team, Seth Panwum.

Mr Panwum, however, denied assertions that his outfit had sacked Coach Adepa, noting that the club only asked him to “step aside” until further notice.

With All Stars yet to explain why they parted ways with Coach Adepa, many have blamed his plight on the club’s poor run in the league.

Reports have it that management of the club are finding it difficult to believe the recent decline of a side that won the top flight some months back, with the club winning once in their last eight Premier League games.

In a telephone interview with the Graphic Sports, from his base at Wa yestereday Panwum said The club had appointed Abubakar Mumuni Sokpari as an interim coach till the end of the season.

“I will also like to put on record that we asked Coach Adepa to step aside until further notice and not what is circulating around that we sacked him.

“The club is yet to come out with an official statement, so I don’t know why people keep reporting that Wa All Stars sacked Coach Adepa,” Panwum lamented.
