The West African Beach Soccer Union (WABSU) has congratulated the newly elected Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad at the Caf executive committee election held in Addis Ababa on Thursday.
Ahmad, who doubles as Madagscar FA president surprisingly brought an end to Issa Hayatou’s 29 years reign as CAF supremo after he polled 33 votes against Hayatou’s 20 at the elective congress in Ethiopia.
In his congratulatory message, the pioneer President of WABSU, Honorable, Suleiman Yahaya Kwande commended the new CAF boss for his immense contribution towards the development of beach soccer in Madagascar, which led to their victory as 2015 Beach Soccer AFCON champions.
Kwande confidently said: “WABSU have high hopes that Ahmad’s victory as CAF president will certainly bring about the much-needed aggressive development and growth of Beach Soccer in the West African sub-region and the entire continent.”
Signed.
