Wydad Athletic Club run riot against Hearts of Oak in Casablanca during a CAF Champions League second leg encounter on Sunday night spanking the Ghanaian side by 6-1 to reach the Group Stage of the competition with a 6-1 aggregate win.
SPORTSWorldGhana.com’s Gariba Raubil rates the performance of the champions of Ghana.
Goalkeeper – Richard Attah – 5/10. Committed a penalty and conceded from the ensuing kick. Conceded a grounded free-kick that he and his defenders should have done better. Made some fine saves but that could not compensate for the horror defensive show.
Right Back – Fatawu Mohammed – 4/10. In the first leg he was on the low and the same could be said on Sunday. Not a proud performance from the captain of the side.
Left Back – William Denkyi – 3/10. The weakest link in the Hearts of Oak defence. The first goal was created from his side. Was such a horrible display. Taken off at half time for Patrick Razak to come in.
Center back – Mohammed Alhassan – 6/10. The only Hearts of Oak player who did his job well. Made two good interventions in the area to deny the rampant WAC players in the first period.
Center back Robert Addo – 4/10. Committed one error that led a WAC goal in the second half with a poor header clearance.
Midfielder – Emmanuel Nettey – 6/10. Another big performer. He was animated in midfield but lacked the required support from his midfield partners – Salifu and Caleb. He was left isolated most of the times.
Midfielder – Caleb Amankwa – 3/10. Very poor display. Nightmarish performance from the former WAFA player. A lot was expected from him since he missed the first leg but he failed to deliver. Hooked at half time for Salim Adams to join the game.
Midfielder – Salifu Ibrahim – 3/10. The playmaker did not produce any positive moments.
Forward – Isaac Mensah – 3/10. Affected by the overall performance of the team, Mensah the scorer of the first leg goal of the Phobians was ineffective. Hardly got a shot.
Forward – Afriyie Barnie – 3/10. Hardly got the supplies from the midfield since WAC were largely in control. Quiet night for Barnie.
Forward – Kofi Kordzi – 3/10. This was a match beyond the powerful Kordzi. There was nothing he could looking at the way the game unfolded.
