Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Lante Vanderpuye has rubbished allegations that he is working against the success of the Black Stars.
The arrival of the former GBC broadcaster has seen an unending verbal and unharmonious atmosphere with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with pro GFA people labeling him as someone who is in to seek the failure of the team but Nii Lante Vanderpuye in an interview with Nhyira FM debunked those allegations stating his love for the team and why he wants the team to perform.
“No one can question my love for the team. I love the team just like any Ghanaian. Secondly, I’m a minister and it will be great to have it on my C.V that under my reign Ghana sealed a fourth consecutive world cup slot”.
The maverick Minister however disclosed that his love for the team will not blind him from performing his core duties as the head of the Ministry that oversees activities of the team.
” My duty is to scrutinize whatever budget we are presented with. I am accountable to institutions so I must seek explanation from the FA when deemed fit. The fact that other Ministers paid certain monies doesn’t mean I have to do that.
In our quest to qualify for the World cup previously we did certain things that have set a bad precedence for us. I am here to correct those things, “.
The latest talk by the Minister will diffuse the perception that he has a vendetta against Kwesi Nyatakyi and Ghanaians will hope that the two institutions will reach a common ground for the wellbeing of the Black Stars
