Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen says the playing body are hoping for Dutch-born forward of Ghanaian descent Brian Brobbey to stay at the club despite the youngster courting interest from top European clubs.
Brobbey’s agent Mino Rioalo has made it clear to the Dutch giants that his client will no more play for the club when his current contract expires this summer.
The player who scored his second goal in three appearances for Ajax in Thursday UEFA Europa League 3-0 win over Swiss side Young Boys, is currently on the radar of German side Dortmund and Italian against AC Milan.
Speaking in an interview with ESPNnl after Thursday’s win against the Swiss side Davy Klaassen said: “Whether I can talk to Brobbey and tell him to stay? I’m doing that everyday!,”
He added ”I understand he cannot say anything about his current situation, but we all want him to stay. You see what he can bring during games.”
Brian Brobbey has been named in the Netherlands U-21 preliminary squad for the 2021 UEFA European Championship.
