Samartex midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh has expressed that winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title was no surprise, as he believes the hard work and dedication put in during the pre-season and training paid off.
The experienced midfielder, who joined FC Samartex from Asante Kotoko in 2022, has become a key player for the team, using his skills and experience to contribute significantly to their success.
After clinching the title with two games remaining, Keyekeh stated that the team’s focus is now on maintaining their winning streak and defending their title.
“We are not surprised at all with the Premier League victory. We know the work put into it during pre-seasons and even training. So we know, but this is not a surprise,” Keyekeh said.
The Samreboi-based club secured the championship under the guidance of veteran coach Nurudeen Amadu, finishing with an impressive 61 points from 34 games. They finished 10 points ahead of second-placed Accra Lions, capping off a remarkable campaign.
