Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has assured fans that his squad is in peak physical condition as they prepare to return to Ghana Premier League action this weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Legon Cities on Sunday, March 9, in a crucial week 23 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium. The match comes after an extended break following their 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC, a game marred by the tragic stabbing of Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong. The league was subsequently suspended, keeping the team out of competitive action for weeks.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Ogum acknowledged the challenge posed by Legon Cities, who handed Kotoko their first loss of the season in the first round.
“We are going into the game with a very confident and determined approach because they were the very first team that defeated us in the first round, and after that, we lost three more games,” he stated.
The Kotoko coach emphasized that his players are both physically and tactically ready to fight for victory.
“Tactically, we have done a lot to make sure that on Sunday, we play strongly and very aggressively to secure the three points. Physically, we are in good shape, and tactically, we are in good shape, so we are ready.”
Kickoff is set for 15:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium.
