Kumasi Asante Kotoko could make up 10 new signings for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, according to the club’s chief executive officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah.
Kotoko finished in second place last season during Nana Yaw Amponsah’s first year in charge, and has promised to make additions to the for the upcoming seasons.
While speaking to ace journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr Chat on Wednesday, the CEO revealed the club will be releasing some players in the transfer window and those with their contracts ending could also depart, hence they could be about 10 new faces in the team.
“Definitely we are going to beef up the team, It’s a very delicate thing to do. I still maintain that [Kotoko] was the best last season considering all that we went through. Any player that is coming must come to improve the team,” he said.
“We are targeting between five and ten players, because they are going to be departures. Some contracts are ending; some we want to renew and some we don’t want to renew and there are some, who didn’t perform to the level we wanted,” Nana Yaw Amponsah concluded.
Kotoko has been linked to so many players since the conclusion of the 2020/21 but the club are yet to make any official signings as at now.
