Head coach of the senior national team, Milovan Rajevac has revealed the wins over Zimbabwe came as a relief to him after sleepless nights.
The Serbian, who was brought in for the second time following the dismissal of Charles Kwablan Akonnor said until winning both games against the Warriors, he was struggling to have ‘good sleep.’
Ghana beat Zimbabwe by three goals to one in Cape Coast before managing a 1-0 victory in Harare courtesy Thomas Partey’s explicit free-kick.
Asked if it was a relief after the two games, the gaffer said: “Yeah definitely it was a relief because we managed to achieve our target.”
The last few weeks were very hard, I didn’t sleep well because there were too many things to be done and after that period, now it is a relief so we can focus on our next challenge.”
Ghana currently occupy the second position on the log after four games played, one point behind leaders South Africa as we approach the final two round of the group stage games.
