Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has urged his teammates and Ghanaians to stay focused as Ghana continues its journey toward securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following Ghana’s 3-0 victory over Madagascar, which solidified their position at the top of Group I with 15 points, Djiku took to social media to share his determination and appreciation for the support from fans.
“We continue to chase our dreams for the World Cup 2026. Keep pushing forward and let’s make every moment count! We thank all Ghanaians for the support and love,” the Fenerbahçe center-back wrote.
Djiku has been a key figure in Ghana’s qualification campaign, bringing defensive solidity and leadership to Otto Addo’s squad. The Black Stars have won five of their six qualifying matches so far, with crucial victories against Mali, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Madagascar.
With the qualifiers set to resume in September, Ghana will be aiming to maintain their top spot in Group I and secure a fifth World Cup appearance.
