Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani believes his side were unfortunate to lose against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s fiercely contested Super Clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Phobians suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the Week 9 fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, with Guinean striker Morifing Donzo scoring the decisive goal to hand the Porcupine Warriors all three points.
Speaking after the match, Coach Dramani admitted that his team fell short of their usual standards but maintained that the result did not accurately reflect the balance of play.
“We lost, but I think we didn’t deserve to lose, in my opinion, and everyone who truly observed the game would agree. We didn’t do well in some areas and need to improve, but the overall performance didn’t merit a defeat,” said Dramani.
The Hearts boss acknowledged areas for tactical improvement, particularly in the final third, but expressed pride in his players’ fighting spirit and composure in such a high-pressure encounter.
The defeat marks Hearts of Oak’s first loss of the season, dropping them to fifth place in the league standings, while Asante Kotoko remain the only unbeaten side in the 2025/26 campaign — a result that strengthens their early push for the title.
