Hearts of Oak coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani expressed his disappointment after his side suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Medeama SC at the TNA Park on Sunday, in Matchday 17 of the Ghana Premier League.
The match remained goalless in the first half, but a 74th-minute strike from former Hearts midfielder Salim Adams handed Medeama all three points, allowing the Mauve and Yellow to consolidate their position at the top of the league standings.
Speaking after the game, Dramani felt his side deserved at least a point rather than a loss.
“I don’t think the better team won. We didn’t deserve to lose today against Medeama SC,” he said.
“We controlled the greater part of the game; they also had their moment, and I think they scored a very beautiful goal,” added the former Black Stars assistant coach.
Dramani also admitted that goalscoring remains a major problem for the Phobians.
“Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem. You saw the chance we had in the first half and the one in the second half. These chances you don’t miss, but we’re still a work in progress.”
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak fifth on the league table with 28 points, as attention now turns to Matchday 18, where they will face Hohoe United in a game crucial for reviving their title challenge.
