The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah believes his side can boast of more supporters that rival club Accra Hearts of Oak.
The two Ghana Premier League clubs have been in a competition both on and off the football pitch, with the latest being the fanbase of both clubs.
Hearts are believed to have so much supporters, with many coming out following their title winning campaign in the 2020/21 season but Kotoko’s CEO thinks otherwise, claiming his side have the majority in terms of supporters.
When asked on Starr FM if his side has a bigger fanbase that Hearts of Oak, he replied: “Of course, that is not even debatable. I think [Great] Olympics will rock shoulders with Hearts of Oak when it comes to fan base.”
“I always say Kotoko say is the company with arguably most customer based in Ghana. I don’t think any other club comes close. Assuming we consider these fans as owners as well as customers, who will patronise our products, it means that such a customer base if you market well, there is nothing you cannot achieve, he concluded.
