General Secretary of Referee Association of Ghana, Joseph Ayite Minsah says his outfit has enough officials to officiate games in case football starts in the country.
This comes after over 70 referees were caught in the investigate documentary dubbed the Number 12 collecting bribe to influence games.
The Zylofon Cash Premier League has been halted in the country.
But Mensah insists they have over 2000 officials who are capable of officiating in the Premier division and the Division One , so replacing the 77 who were caught in the exposee wouldn’t be a headache.
” We have close to 2000 referees in Ghana so if 77 are tainted, there are equally better ones out there who can officiate should football start today” He told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.
“A list of 120 referees was given to the GFA at the start of the league season for Premier and 400 for division one league. So to replacing the 77 referees is not a problem at all”
The General Secretary also confirmed that they have been furnished with the copy of the exposee and the and their executives will meet next week and watch before taking an action.
“RAG Executives will meet on Saturday to watch the Number 12 Video after which necessary actions will be taken”
“We met the Liaison team today and they have given us 2 weeks to furnish them with our inputs with regards to the reforms” he added
