Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has advised the Ghana Football Association to try all they can to convince Mohammed Salisu to join the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs next year in March.
According to Arhinful, the Black Stars need all the best players of Ghanaian nationality or eligible to play for the senior national team to make sure we qualify for the next FIFA Mundial.
The former Ghana International is urging thr FA to use former Black Stars players like Samuel Osei Kuffour and Anthony Baffour with high profiles to convince the players to join the national team.
“We need to approach Mohammed Salisu to come and play for us, we need him to come. Let’s contact Samuel Kuffuor, Tony Baffour to do this job for us”, he told Happy FM.
He also stressed that the former Bayern München defender and legend ans former Ghana captain Baffour could help convince the player to rescind his decision about not honoring previous call ups.
“Let them go there and speak with him. In defense, we got a problem. We need our best players out there to come and represent us. He is a solid defender and a good passer of the ball.
Salisu, a former player of Spanish La Liga outfit Real Valladolid and currently plying his trade in England with Southampton FC in the past rejected a call up from Ghana under coach CK Akonnor.
