President of Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has promised to stop relying on Federal Government for funding to run the NFF after being re-elected for another four year term.
Out of 44 delegates who voted, Amaju Pinnick pulled 34 votes with former president Aminu Maigari getting 8 votes.
Former general secretary Taiwo Ogunjobi also got 2 votes with Chinedu Okoye getting no vote .
Pinnick says the federation will in the next two years will be self dependent in terms of sponsorship.
“I jsut believe as a team, we have a vision and the vision is youth development,self reliant in terms of sponsorship and of course sustaining the culture of football and our vision is clear ”
“We need to take football out of government in terms of funding,because government supervises our activities when it comes to funding and it’s an integral area which we want to determine our own fate which we believe its done will take us to the promise land”
“At the moment we are sixty five percent home in terms of funding and i believe in the next two years, we will be one hundred percent”Pinnick told the press.
