Bashir Hayford, head coach of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club says his side outplayed Asante Kotoko but unfortunately gifted Kotoko a goal which eventually earned the Porcupine warriors all three points in their crucial match on Monday at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium.
Kotoko beat the host by a goal to nil through striker Yakubu Mohammed’s 63rd calm header.
The miners started the game on a brilliant not but could not capitalize on their home advantage to beat Kotoko considering their fans vociferous noise at the stadium,
Both teams approach the second half with a goal scoring mentality but it was Kotoko whose effort rewarded them what matters most in football with Yakubu Mohammed making the only difference in the game.
Speaking a presser shortly after the game, Bashir Hayford who was pleased with team performance despite their loss to Dzravko Lugurusic’s side said ” Today we played very well and I can say that we outplayed Kotoko in my opinion only that we gifted them a goal that contributed to our defeat but that is the game of football the only mistake you commit could lead to a defeat”
”I’m really impressed with the performance my players put up today, there is a clear improvement when you compare what I saw today to our first three matches”. added Bashir Hayford.
Ashanti Gold SC will travel to the Golden City Park in Berekum on Sunday March 5 to face Berekum Chelsea match day 5 of the Ghana Premier League.
