Having annexed the U-20 World Cup with the national youth team in 2009, the ex-Olympique Marseille man has been tasked to add more together with his younger brother at the senior national team.
Andre and Jordan Ayew topmost priority now is to win a trophy for the Black Stars very soon, according to their uncle Solar Ayew.
The duo have reportedly been handed an invite for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia this month following one year absence in the senior national team squad.
However, their latest call-ups have reignited excitement amongst their fans, but their counselor has quenched the euphoria surrounding their latest invite, stating the ultimate aim for the Ayew family on their lads is to see both clinching laurels for the four-time African champions.
“The boys coming back in to the Black Stars is a welcoming news for the family and our supporters but that’s not important to us at the moment but achieving for the country is the aim now,” Solar Ayew told Oyerepa FM
The firebrand ex-Black Stars player continued: “We want the boys to win a trophy for the nation.
Andre did it at the under 20 level but it’s not enough.
The family always want the name of the country on a high note.
Our concern now as a family is to help the players play well for the nation to win a trophy for the country. That’s what we are looking for now.”
