Ghana’s Coach Milovan Rajevac has acknowledged his team’s mistakes they made in the past game against a resilient Ethiopia in Johannesburg at the Orlando stadium last Thursday.
According to the gaffer, defensively, his team made some mistakes which were unpardonable in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Thursday afternoon in South Africa.
He stated that his team is aware of the mistakes the made defensively on Thursday and are determined to make amends against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa tomorrow, Sunday, November 14.
He also acknowledged the fact that the Ethiopians made it difficult for his team because they fought for every single ball at all times on the field.
“First, I would like to congratulate my players for fighting very hard. We were expecting a tough match today and I want to congratulate the Ethiopians for a very good performance, they deserved the result,” Rajevac said at the post-match press conference.
“We made some problems in defence and we made some mistakes. But everything will be decided on Sunday [against South Africa]. It is important that we win by two clear goals if we want to make it to the playoffs.
“Of course, the draw has distracted us a bit but we have to forget about it and think of the final match.
“Even if we won Ethiopia today, we would still need to beat South Africa on Sunday and so, we have to give our best, gather the troops and give a good performance in the last match.”
Milovan is hoping to qualify Ghana to the football mundial next year in Qatar after doing so with the four-time AFCON champions in 2010 and a win on Sunday will put Ghana through to the playoffs stage.
