Maxwell Konadu, the head coach of Legon Cities, has expressed confidence that his team will avoid relegation in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Despite currently sitting in the relegation zone with 28 points after a 3-2 defeat against Bibiani Gold Stars in their most recent match at DUN’s Park, Konadu has pledged that they will fight to maintain their status in the top flight.
Speaking to StarTimes after the game, the former Asante Kotoko gaffer stated, “We will [escape relegation]. Mark it on the wall. We will escape relegation.” He also praised his team’s efforts, even in defeat, and affirmed their commitment to keep fighting for improvement, saying, “Proud of the performance of my boys today. They did well… We will keep fighting to escape relegation.”
Legon Cities are scheduled to face Kotoku Royals at home in their next league match. However, before that, they will face Dreams FC in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup.
