Ashanti Gold Sporting Club forward Hans Kwofie says his side will fight assiduously to ensure Asante Kotoko is beaten today in their Premier League week 4 replay fixture at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Striker Yakubu Mohammed shot Kotoko a lead in the 14th minute but the host responded three minutes later with a leveler through Amos Addai who has been involved in Ashgold four goals scored this season.
Both teams chased for a lead but none of the two managed to hit target as the first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The game had to be stopped just four minutes into the second half after storms engulfed Obuasi, soaking the playing surface of the pitch leaving referee Prince Amoah no option than to stop the match and reschedule the fixture for Monday.
Kwofie in a interview with sportsworldghana.com exclusively ahead of the game on Monday said” Seriously we can’t afford to lose against Kotoko today at the Len Clay sports Stadium it is going to be a must win for us”
He added” We at [Ashgold] need the three points badly against Kotoko there we will play a better game and beat Kotoko as well.”
”It was clear that we were going to be Kotoko on Sunday but only God knows why that heavy downpour which forced the referee to stop the game and reschedule it for Monday but that doesn’t mean we will allow Kotoko pick a point from the Len Clay Stadium”.
The game kicks off at exactly 3 pm today at same venue.
