Ghana Coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has given Ghanaian assurance that his side will make amends in subsequent matches following a shocking 1-0 loss to Sudan on Tuesday.
The Black Stars conceded a 90th-minute goal to suffer defeat in their AFCON 2021 qualifier with the Falcons of Jediane.
The Black Stars would have sealed qualification to the tournament which will be staged in Cameroon had they won the match.
The loss to Sudan thus delays Ghana’s qualification to the African biggest tournament.
Akonnor has since been lambasted after the defeat to Sudan despite beating them 2-0 in Cape Coast last week Thursday in the first leg clash.
Speaking in the aftermath of the game with Sudan, Akonnor promised an improvement in subsequent matches.
He admitted that there were mistakes made and the necessary coorections will be effected when Ghana next takes to the field.
“What I can say is we’ll learn from the mistakes we’ve made and of course in March (2021) we have two matches coming on.
” I strongly believe and I can assure Ghanaians that we’ll do our best to qualify,” an upbeat Akonnor assured.
Ghana, four-time African champions with three wins out of four games still atop the log of their qualifying group tied on 9 points with second placed South Africa.
The Black Stars have two games to play, at home to Sao Tome as well as a trip to face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in March next year.
