Assistant Coach of the Black Stars B, Maxwell Konadu has respectfully apologized to Ghanaians for his charges failure to qualify for the CHAN 2018, after losing 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in Kumasi on Sunday.

Two Goals from Mohammed Sylla and Herman Nikiema in the first 30 minutes was what did the magic for the visitors to shockingly end Ghana’s dream of qualifying for the tourney which will be held in Kenya.

Substitute Felix Addo got Ghana a consolation just before the hour mark but was not enough to help Ghana draw levels with their neighbors.

The Black Stars shocking home defeat on Sunday to Burkina Faso left the former Asante Kotoko trainer bereft of words and was quick to render an apology to the fans.

Speaking at a post-match conference Konadu said ”We have to start by saying that we are sorry for disappointing the very fans that has being behind this team all this while but what else can we say”.

”The boys did their best and we guided them to how to be victorious, but unfortunately for us that couldn’t happen.

He continued “The boys are all down, so the mood in camp is not good but we think that it is football, we did whatever we had to do in order to reverse the scoreline but we couldn’t,”

Ghana has now failed to qualify for the tournament for the second time on a row after missing out in Rwanda 2016.

The Black Stars B’s last appearance at the Championship of African Nations tournament was in Libya where they lost to host Libya at the grand finale.
