Black Stars captain Andre Ayew admits Ethiopia gave them a tough time despite securing victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Friday.
The Qatar-based midfielder lasted the entire duration of the encounter played at the Cape Coast Stadium with Mubarak Wakaso’s fortuitous goal ensuring a 1-0 win for the Black Stars.
“Three points. Nothing comes easy. Not a full stadium but a great atmosphere,” Ayew posted on social media.
“We thank all Ghanaians for their support and love. We keep going.”

The Black Stars are now top of the table with maximum points while South Africa and Zimbabwe come in with a point each after their goalless draw.
Ayew will lead the team again on Monday in their second match against South Africa in Johannesburg.
