Defending Champions of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, Ampem Darkoa ladies will be at home to Supreme ladies hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table in the Northern Zone.

There is also a derby look ahead to Tamale when Super Ladies host rivals Northern Ladies in at the Kulikuli School Park, whilst Ashtown Ladies travel to Tamale to play bottom placed PearlPia Ladies in a relegation dogfight.

Read on for the full Preview of matches in the Northern Zone:

KUMASI SPORTS ACADEMY VRS FOSU ROYAL LADIES

Kumasi Sports Academy have been inconsistent with their performance since their promotion to the top flight this season as results have been hard to come by in  their previous matches. However, their win against Dreamz Ladies will serve as a morale booster going into this weekend’s game against newbies Fosu Royal Ladies. Fosu Royal Ladies have also failed to impress following their promotion this season as they occupy the 7th spot in the Zone with 16 points – four points ahead of bottom placed PearPia Ladies. Both teams are tied on 16 points – with Kumasi Sports Academy holding a slight advantage over their opponents. With six rounds of games to end the season, both teams are in dire need of points to avoid relegation.

DREAMZ LADIES VRS PRISONS LADIES.

Dreamz Ladies will be locking horns with Prisons Ladies at Bantama Astrorurf in a crucial encounter. Dreamz Ladies dropped points in their last fixture and will approach this game with all seriousness knowing a win can push them to the second position and strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four. Prisons Ladies were struggling in the first half of the season but have been decent with their performances in the second half picking up maximum points in their last two fixtures.

AMPEM DARKOA LADIES VRS SUPREME LADIES

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will play host to Supreme Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman. The defending champions have amassed 30 points out of a possible 39 and are unbeaten in their last three matches. The Techiman Ladies are in good form ahead of this weekend’s clash following their stunning run of results. Supreme Ladies lost 3-0 to Prisons Ladies in their week 13 game and are currently in 4th place with 17 points. The host will prove a difficult task for the Kumasi based team who are looking to maintain their position in the top four.

TAMALE SUPER LADIES VRS NORTHERN LADIES

Tamale Super Ladies will try to get back to winning ways their winning ways when they take on city rivals Northern Ladies at the Kulikuli School Park in one of the fiercest derbies in the Women’s Premier League. Tamale Super Ladies go into this derby knowing a defeat shall spell doom to their campaign whilst a win shall give them the needed morale and hope of survival. Northern Ladies are 10 points behind leaders Ampem Darkoa Ladies and can’t afford to drop points on the road knowing that a defeat could reduce their chances of winning the title.

PEARLPIA LADIES VRS ASHTOWN LADIES

Bottom placed Pearlpia Ladies will be at home to Ashtown Ladies at the Kulikuli School Astro Turf in an epic matchday 14 encounter. Pearlpia Ladies are currently languishing at the bottom of the league log whilst the visitors are 9th in the table with 14 points – two points adrift of the host. Both teams will look to avoid defeat as they fight to escape relegation.
