Asante Kotoko on Wednesday, November 24,2021 thumped lower-tier side Kenpong Academy football club at the Atonsu Astroturf in a preparation match ahead of their Ghana Premier League matchday 5 game against Karela United.
Goals from Evans Adomako, Steven Amankona, Thiery Mbella Etouga, and a brace from Sarfo Taylor helped the Porcupine Warriors to win the friendly game.
But the toast of fan’s was young Kenpong Academy goalkeeper Stephen Awere who prevented kotoko from recording a cricket scoreline.
The game was to allow fringe players to gain fitness likes of Kwame Baah, Samuel Appiah, Augustine Agyapong, Maxwell Agyemang, Charles Owusu, Sheriff Mohammed, Clinton Opoku, Emmanuel Kayekeh, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, Evans Adomako, and Stephen Amankona started the game
The Kumasi-based club has won all their first four league games this season and will hope to make it 5 when they visit Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Aiyinase this Saturday.
Kotoko wants to win the league this season after losing out to their bitterly rivals Accra Hearts of Oak last season.
