Despite calls from bankroller for King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah for the inclusion of Zubairu Ibrahim into the Black Stars team, vice President of the club Alhaji Kamel insists the player isn’t matured enough for a Black Stars call-up.
Zubairu Ibrahim is currently one of the best players in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season. His hat-trick earned King Faisal a 2-3 win against giants Asante Kotoko in their matchday six clash at the Baba Yara Stadium last weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, Alhaji Kamel indicated that it’s too early for the player to be handed a Black Stars invitation.
“I don’t think so, it is too early to say Zubairu should be called into the Black Stars, he’s an upcoming player who needs to start from the U20 and progress to the U23 and ultimately into Black Stars.”
Meanwhile, Ghana gaffer Milovan Rejevac is expected to submit his squad to the Ghana FA’s Executive Council this week ahead of the team’s trip to Doha to commence preparations for next year’s AFCON in Cameroon.
