Ghana’s Sports Ministry has said that it provided needed logistical and financial support the Black Stars needed to enable them to succeed in the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ministry has thus called for an emergency meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the Black Stars suffered a disastrous early exit on Tuesday night after being beaten by Comoros.

The Black Stars recorded one of their worst performances in the tournament history, after exiting the group stage.

Ghana lost its final group game against Comoros 3-2 to exit the competition after losing captain Andre Ayew through a red card.

The four-time AFCON champions have exited the tournament embarrassingly and many Ghanaian fans are disappointed in the technical handlers of the team.

The Sports Ministry in a letter signed by Mustapha Ussif, has called the Ghana FA leadership to an emergency meeting after the team’s shambolic exit on Friday.
