Otto Addo believes should the Black Stars advance from Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, they could pull off a surprise.
The tournament’s lowest-ranked team, Black Stars, have been drawn in Group H with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
Ahead of the tournament which starts in five days’ time, the head coach of the side is optimistic Ghana could be one of the surprise packages if they manage to come out of the group.
Everything is possible. As I’ve said, we have three strong opponents in our group. If we don’t perform as we need to, or if we’re not able to implement our tactics then it’ll be very difficult,’ coach Addo told FIFA.
“Especially because Portugal, Uruguay and Korea Republic are very strong opponents with qualities on and off the pitch.
He added, “It will be difficult to compete with them but, as I’ve said, we have the quality to beat them.”
“If we progress from the group, anything is possible.”
Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
