Telecommunications giants MTN have gifted Ghana’s senior national team- Black Stars $2 million as they prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
MTN look to contribute as the four-time African Champions aim to excel in their fourth appearance at the World Cup.
The Black Stars last participated at the global stage in 2014, where they were kicked out of the group stages following a shambolic performances and off-field issues.
The donation made by MTN is also to support the team in its preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast which will take place in early 2024.
The Black Stars after their shambolic display at the 2021 Afcon in Cameroun where they recorded their worst performance ever with a group phase exit have been touted as the underdogs in a group that contains Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
