Senegal recorded Africa’s first win in the 2022 World Cup following a 3-1 result over hosts Qatar.
The 2021 AFCON winners scored their first goal of the tournament just before the half time whistle via Boulaye Dia who pounced on a mistake from the opponents.
Diedhiou doubled the lead for the Teranga Lions shortly after the second half started by Mohammed Muntari gave the Qatari’s hope with a header.

Bamba Dieng responded and gave Senegal all three points.
Qatar are now on the brink of an early exit from the tournament whilst Senegal have renewed hope.
