Ghana’s defender, Alexander Djiku, is determined to bounce back after their recent defeat against Cape Verde in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the loss, Djiku, who plays for Fenerbache in Turkey, stood out as the Man of the Match for his stellar performance with the Black Stars.
In the game, Cape Verde took an early lead, but Djiku’s resilience helped Ghana level the score. Unfortunately, a late defensive mishap allowed Cape Verde to secure a 2-1 victory.
Reflecting on the match, Djiku stressed the importance of being more aggressive, pressing harder, and finding the net. He expressed the team’s eagerness to secure a win in their upcoming game against Egypt.
“We need to do more. We need to be more aggressive, we need to press more, and then, we need to score also. We have lost this game, and we need to win our second game,” Djiku emphasized after the match.
As Ghana faces a crucial encounter with Egypt, Djiku recognizes the risk of an early exit, similar to the previous tournament. The team is determined to learn from their mistakes and turn the tide for a successful campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations.
