Ghana’s coach, Chris Hughton, commended goalkeeper Richard Ofori for consistently giving his best to the national team. Despite not being the primary choice for his club Orlando Pirates, Ofori has been standing firm as the goalkeeper for the Black Stars in recent matches.
Hughton highlighted Ofori’s significance, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to representing his country. The coach acknowledged the challenges in the goalkeeping situation, where a player may not be a regular at his club but can excel when called upon for the national team.
Explaining Ofori’s qualities, Hughton mentioned, “He’s a big personality, and based on the time I’ve been with the team, I believe Dede [Ayew] can attest over a longer period that Richard Ofori has never disappointed the nation in terms of availability and performance.”
Looking ahead to Ghana’s match against Cape Verde in the 2023 AFCON Group B, Hughton shared these thoughts with the media, setting the stage for the upcoming game at 8 pm at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
