Ghana’s coach, Chris Hughton, is highlighting the Black Stars’ awareness of the challenge they face against Mozambique in a crucial match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hughton stressed the importance of both physical and mental readiness from his team to overcome Mozambique, saying, “The players know what it will take to get a result. There are no easy games in this tournament. We have to be physically and mentally prepared for this.”
Looking back at Ghana’s earlier matches, they faced a setback with a 2-1 loss to Cape Verde in the opening game. A critical mistake by Mohammed Salisu resulted in a stoppage-time goal.
In the second match against Egypt, defensive errors led to a 2-2 draw despite impressive goals from Mohammed Kudus.
With only one point from two games, the Black Stars currently sit third in Group B, creating a pressing need for a victory against Mozambique to advance to the round of 16.
The final group showdown is set for Monday night at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, intensifying the pressure on Ghana as they seek redemption from their earlier tournament challenges.
