Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has handed Lawrence Zigi a starting role in this afternoon’s 2023 AFCON qualifying game against Central African Republic in Angola.

The FC St. Gallen’s goalkeeper had his last outing with the stars in a friendly game with Algeria prior to the 2021 AFCON where he conceded one goal before making way for Manaf.

The former Red Bull Ghana goalkeeper has often been criticized for putting up poor performances in the Black Stars jersey and he has another chance to get things right.

He conceded 63 goals in 36 games in the just ended Swiss league and had eight clean sheets.
