Black Princesses forward Abdulai Mukarama expressed frustration over missed scoring opportunities in Ghana’s first football match at the 13th African Games against Ethiopia.
The Ghana U20 women’s national team faced off against Ethiopia on Saturday night, overcoming challenges with the floodlights to secure a narrow 1-0 victory.
Looking ahead to Ghana’s upcoming match against Tanzania, Mukarama Abdulai highlighted the team’s determination to address their goal-scoring challenges and deliver an improved performance.
Reflecting on the opening match, Abdulai acknowledged the disappointment of missing chances that could have resulted in more goals. She emphasized the team’s commitment to rectifying their shortcomings and praised the coaches for addressing areas of weakness both individually and collectively.
“The first game didn’t go as planned, it didn’t go the way we all wanted, especially missing chances that we could have scored.
”Our fans expected more but going into the second match, we have worked on what didn’t go well for us and the coaches have worked on areas we lacked individually and as a group,” the Black Princesses forward said.
With expectations high from fans, the Black Princesses are focused on learning from their first match and elevating their game against Tanzania on Tuesday, March 12, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
