Hearts of Oak’s newly signed goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, is determined to secure his first piece of silverware with the club in the upcoming 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Charity Cup.
The Phobians are set to clash with Heart of Lions in this preseason friendly, scheduled for Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, as both teams gear up for the 2024-25 football season.
During a pre-match press conference held at the Palace of the Gbese Mantse on Wednesday, Asare expressed his gratitude to the organizers for arranging the charity cup match, which is part of a broader campaign to promote peace in the community.
“We thank our chiefs for organizing this charity cup match. It provides a great opportunity for us as players to win something meaningful for our clubs,” Asare stated. “We are committed to making this match a successful and memorable event, and I encourage all supporters to come out on Sunday to show their support.”
Asare emphasized the importance of unity through the event, assuring Hearts of Oak fans that the team is fully focused on securing the trophy. “Let’s use this match as a chance to unite, and I want to assure Hearts of Oak supporters that we will do everything possible to win this trophy,” he added.
Asare, who was recognized for his exceptional goalkeeping with Great Olympics last season, finishing with the most clean sheets, is expected to address the goalkeeping challenges at Hearts of Oak.
