IF Elfsborg defender Terry Yegbe has been handed a late call-up to join the Black Stars team for the upcoming Morocco 2025 Africa Cup pf Nations qualifications matches against Angola and Niger later this month.
The former Black Meteors defender who was initially not part of Otto Addo’s 25-man squad for the two games, has been called to be part of the squad following series of injuries that have hit some players who were originally invited.
The Ghana Football Association in a statement published on Monday 11th November, 2023 said that: Osman Bukari (Austin FC), Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer (Hamburger SV), Forson Amankwah (Norwich City), Terry Yegbe (IF Elfsborg), Ebenezer Annan (OFK Beograd) and Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor) will join the Black Stars ahead of crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.”
”These players replace Joseph Paintsil, Antoine Semenyo, Ibrahim Osman, Tariq Lamptey, Jerome Opoku, and Inaki Williams, who are unavailable. Ghana faces Angola on Friday, November 15 and host Niger on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Ghana will face Angola on Friday, November 15, in Luanda, before concluding the qualifiers at home against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18.
Currently, Ghana sits third in Group F with just two points from four games, leaving their qualification hopes in the balance. The Black Stars must win their remaining matches and hope Sudan, with seven points, lose both of theirs in order to qualify.
