The Black Stars, Ghana’s national football team, are preparing for their upcoming FIFA World Cup Matchday 3 qualifier against Mali.
The team is scheduled to leave Accra for Bamako on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Under the leadership of coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars have been undergoing intensive training in Accra over the past four days to gear up for this critical match. The game will be held at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, with a kick-off time of 19:00.
Ghana is currently striving to regain their winning momentum following a mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers. They began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi but then faced a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.
At present, the Black Stars are positioned 4th in Group I. The team is optimistic that securing wins in their upcoming matches, especially against Mali, will greatly enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This prestigious tournament will be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
After the match against Mali, Ghana is set to play against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
