Ghana international Inaki Williams has urged his Black Stars teammates to stay focused and not become complacent following their emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Williams played the full 90 minutes on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, ending his goal drought by getting on the scoresheet in Ghana’s dominant win. The result propelled the Black Stars to the top of Group I, strengthening their chances of securing a spot at next year’s World Cup.
Ghana took control of the match early, with goals from Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Jordan Ayew giving them a commanding first-half lead. In the second half, Mohammed Salisu and Ernest Nuamah added their names to the scoresheet to seal the victory.
Despite the impressive performance, the Athletic Bilbao forward has called on the team to remain determined as they prepare for their crucial fixture against Madagascar on Monday.
“Said and done. Let’s go for more. Thank you all for the support,” Williams wrote.
The Black Stars have already arrived in Morocco for the upcoming match, which could prove decisive in their qualification campaign. A win would further boost Ghana’s chances, but Madagascar, trailing by just two points in Group I, will be eager to secure all three points and reclaim the top spot.
