President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has admitted he is worried about the growing injury list in the Black Stars camp as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament fast approaching, a number of key national team players are currently sidelined with various fitness concerns at their respective clubs. The situation has sparked anxiety among supporters, as maintaining a fully fit squad will be critical to Ghana’s ambitions on the global stage.

Addressing the issue, Okraku did not hide his concern but remained hopeful about the team’s prospects.
“I’m concerned, and everybody is concerned about the number of players in the medical room as you speak now. But I’m very positive. I’m a very positive person. I always believe that everything and anything is possible and our job is to work as much as we can. Our job is to pray as much as we can for the Almighty God to bless us and we leave the rest to him.
“We’ll do our part and we know that our part will be enough to make Ghana proud.”
The GFA President emphasised the need for close coordination between the national team’s medical department and club medical teams to ensure players receive optimal treatment and recovery support.
Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence that the Black Stars will be ready when the World Cup kicks off, urging Ghanaians to remain optimistic and continue backing the team.
