Ghanaian forward and Athletic Bilbao star Inaki Williams has assured Black Stars fans that he will find the net against Chad in Friday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Despite his impressive form in La Liga, Williams has struggled to replicate his club success on the international stage since making his Ghana debut in September 2022 against Brazil. The 30-year-old has scored just once in 17 appearances for the Black Stars—his only goal coming in a 1-0 win over Madagascar in November 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
However, Williams is determined to change that narrative. In a video shared by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), he confidently declared:
“Hello, Ghanaians. How are you doing? I’m home. On Friday, I’ll score a goal. See you.”
His statement reflects the belief and determination within the Black Stars camp as they prepare for the must-win fixture. Williams has also urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team, saying:
“Hi, this is Inaki Williams. We need you to support us in these crucial games because together we are stronger.”
Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday before traveling to Morocco to face group leaders Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
The Black Stars currently sit third in Group I, level on points with second-placed Comoros. Victories in both matches could propel them to the top of the standings, strengthening their bid for a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
