Athletic Club reignited their bid for European qualification with a 2-1 victory over Real Betis at the San Mamés Stadium, ending a four-match winless run.
After a bright start, Athletic took the lead in the 25th minute when Dani Vivian finished from the edge of the box after being set up by Iñaki Williams. Williams turned provider again just before halftime, assisting Oihan Sancet to make it 2-0.
Betis improved after the break and pulled one back through Pablo Fornals, who curled in a superb free-kick. A late equaliser was denied by VAR for offside, allowing Athletic to hold on.
The win lifts Athletic to ninth—just three points off European spots—while Betis remain fifth but extend their winless LaLiga run to five matches.
