2026 World Cup qualifiers: Hossam Hassan names 26-man squad for Egypt against Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau

Head coach Hossam Hassan who replaced Portuguese head coach Rui Victoria has named 26 players for Pharaohs June’s International break.

Egypt will host Burkina Faso and travel to Guinea Bissau for the MD3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June hoping to win both games to put themselves in a commanding lead.

Egypt tops Group A after comfortable wins over Djibouti and Sierra Leone in MD1 and 2 respectively.

The squad is headlined by the return of Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah who was not part of the team in March’s friendlies against Croatia and New Zealand.

Al ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy returns after being out for a while due to injury.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Awad, and El-Mahdi Soliman.

Defenders: Mohamed Abdelmonem, Ramy Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Ramadan ‘Beckham’, Mohamed Hany, Akram Tawfik, Mohamed Hamdy, and Ahmed Fatouh.

Midfielders: Marwan Ateya, Hamdy Fathi, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Emam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Nasser Maher, Ibrahim Adel, Mohamed Salah, Mostafa Fathi, and Mahmoud Trezeguet.

Forwards: Mostafa Mohamed, Mohamed El-Shamy, Ahmed Amin Oufa, and Mohamed Sherif
