Swedish club IFK Värnamo have officially secured the loan signing of 18-year-old Ghanaian center-back Rufai Mohammed from IF Elfsborg.
Mohammed, who joined Elfsborg from Ghanaian side Inter Allies FC before the start of the previous season, has yet to make his debut in the Swedish top flight. His loan move to Värnamo presents an opportunity for him to gain valuable first-team experience in the Allsvenskan.
Despite this temporary switch, Mohammed remains under contract with Elfsborg until the end of the 2027 season, signaling the club’s long-term investment in his development. The move aligns with Elfsborg’s strategy to provide young talents with competitive game time while monitoring their progress.
For Värnamo, the arrival of Mohammed strengthens their defensive options as they look to solidify their backline for the season. Although the exact duration of the loan has not been disclosed, the deal represents a crucial step in the young defender’s career.
Mohammed has already linked up with the Värnamo squad and will wear the number 4 jersey.
