He also followed it up with another brace to inspire the Indomitable Lions to came back from a goal down to beat Ethiopia 4-1 in the second game with another brace.
On Monday, January 17,Aboubakar scored his 5th goal in the competition as he grabbed a goal against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in their last group game.
The 29-year-old now has five goals in three games to his credit in three matches and is the top scorer of the competition.
No player currently has three goals with the likes of Wahbi Khazri, Gabadinho Mhango, Ibrahima Kone and Karl Toko Ekambi all tied on two goals.
