If Ghana’s Black Stars defeat Comoros in their final Group C match in the ongoing 2021 AFCON competition in Cameroon on Tuesday, each player will receive $30,000 as a qualification bonus.
Coach Milovan Rajevac on the other hand will pocket double of the player’s winning bonus making his $60k.
Following a loss to Morocco and a point from a draw with Gabon, Ghana’s chances of progressing to the next round of the current tournament are slim.
Mustapha Ussif, the Minister for Youth and Sports, stated before the start of the AFCON that the Black Stars will require $25 million for the AFCON 2022 and World Cup campaigns.
This was revealed at a breakfast meeting between the CEOs of state-owned firms and Corporate Ghana.
These institutions addressed strategies to raise funds for the Black Stars team for the contest in which Ghana is currently lagging behind.
The Black Stars lost their opening fixture at the tournament to Morocco before draw one all against Gabon in their second match.
The West African giants will need to beat Comoros in the final group game on Tuesday, January 18 to keep them in the competition.
Ghana now has to beat Comoros massively in their last Group C game before they can stand a chance to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
The four-time African Champions, have always qualified from the group stage of the Afcon since 2008.
